We help young people gain the skills they need to shine bright

We enable young people from every background to enjoy new activities; experience the outdoors; make friends; develop skills; gain confidence and have the opportunity to reach their full potential.

Welcome to 5th Crawley Scout Group

Founded in 1958, our group covers Three Bridges, Pound Hill and Maidenbower areas. Our HQ is based in Gales Drive, Three Bridges, with Section meetings also at the Maidenbower Community Centre. We are a growing group with the below section meetings:

Squirrels (4-6yrs)

  • Three Bridges – Tuesdays

Beavers (6-8yrs)

  • Three Bridges – Mondays
  • Maidenbower – Thursdays

Cubs (8-10.5yrs)

  • Three Bridges – Tuesdays
  • Maidenbower – Thursdays

Scouts (10.5-14yrs)

  • Three Bridges (Kraken Troop) –  Thursdays
  • Three Bridges (Phoenix Troop) – Fridays

Neil Armstrong Explorers (14-18yrs)

  • Three Bridges – Wednesdays

Activities are a crucial part of Scouting and essential when providing an exciting, rewarding and memorable experience for our young people. Typically, we offer a number of adventurous activities on a regular basis such as rock-climbing, abseiling, kayaking, rifle shooting, archery, camping, cooking, bike riding and crate stacking.

Our District Explorers also offer the chance to take part in the Duke of Edinburgh’s Award and also run various expeditions overseas.

Adult volunteers

The Scouts award-winning training scheme for volunteers means that adults get as much from Scouts as young people.
