Can you help us? Volunteers wanted.

5th Crawley are a successful Scout Group serving the young people of Crawley typically from Three Bridges, Pound Hill and Maidenbower. Over the past 12 months we have grown significantly and are keen to hear from potential volunteers over 18 who would like to join our team and become leaders or assistants.

Not only is it great fun working with the young members by taking part in the sessions, it helps build confidence, sense of purpose, comradeship working as part of a team. It gives back to our local communities and may even help when applying for employment or education opportunities.

Our meetings take place either at our Three Bridges based in Gales Place or at Maidenbower Community Centre. We have vacancies for leaders and assistants in each of our sections which meet on the following evenings –
Maidenbower Beavers Thursday
Maidenbower Cubs Thursday
Three Bridges Beavers Monday
Three Bridges Cubs Tuesday
Scouts based at Three Bridges Thursday & Friday

Some of our current leaders and supporters joined as past youth members, some as parents supporting their own children or others wanting to help in their communities. Previous experience isn’t necessary just a genuine wish to help local children (aged 6-14) develop and gain life skills. The reward is helping them achieve their goals and grow.

Whilst a regular commitment is desirable we are flexible, offer training and support and will assist with providing uniforms. Joining is easy, the choice of age group and evening is yours; however as you will no doubt expect the Scout Association does ensure that all adults joining meet essential safety criteria as you will be working with children.

If you would like to have a conversation to find out more, please click on JOIN (above) and select ADULT VOLUNTEER and submit the form. Alternatively, please do not hesitate to have a chat with one of our leaders. THANK YOU!

HM King Charles III has been confirmed as our new Patron, a great honour for UK Scouts.

The King continues a long tradition of the monarch giving their Patronage, dating back to 1912. This was when Scouts was granted its Royal Charter and HM George V became our first Patron.
