Congratulations to Courtney on Achieving Her King’s Scout Award!

Date: 17th Oct 2025 Author: Gareth Thrower

We’re incredibly proud to share that one of our Cub Leaders, Courtney Palmer-Jones, has achieved and been presented with her King’s Scout Award, the highest award you can earn in Scouting.

The King’s Scout Award focuses on providing experiences, challenges, and opportunities for personal development through the ICVs (International, Community, and Values).

Not only has Courtney achieved her King’s Scout Award, but she has also completed all three other Top Awards, making her the first person in Crawley District to achieve this remarkable milestone. She now holds all four of Scouting’s highest Top Awards:

  • Duke of Edinburgh Gold Award

  • Scouts of the World Award

  • Explorer Belt

  • King’s Scout Award

To celebrate these incredible accomplishments, Courtney will be invited to Windsor Castle and Buckingham Palace next year for formal ceremonies recognising her King’s Scout Award and Duke of Edinburgh Gold Award, respectively.

In the meantime, we’re celebrating her achievements here at 5th Crawley and couldn’t be prouder of her dedication, determination, and outstanding contribution to Scouting.
