Kraken Scouts Put Their Skills to the Test with Chariot Challenge

Date: 28th Mar 2025 Author: Gareth Thrower

Our Kraken Scout unit had an action-packed evening on 20 March, combining navigation, teamwork and pioneering skills in a fun and energetic session.

The Scouts kicked things off by testing their knowledge of map symbols, putting their navigation skills to the test and brushing up on some essential outdoor know-how.

Next, they moved on to practicing knots and lashings, which came in very handy for the evening’s big challenge—building a chariot sturdy enough to carry each team member around a course! The Scouts rose to the challenge brilliantly, working together to design and construct robust and reliable chariots. Once built, each team raced their creations around the course, taking turns to carry their teammates and putting both their engineering and teamwork to the test.

We were incredibly impressed by the Scouts’ enthusiasm, creativity and determination. Their chariots held up impressively, and it was fantastic to see such strong teamwork in action.

A huge thank you to Daniel and Sophie for their invaluable help this evening—your support made the session even more memorable.

Well done, Kraken Scouts!
