Group Secretary 

What you’ll do 

The Group Secretary helps keep the wider 5th Crawley Scout Group organised and ensures important information gets to the right people. 

Responsibilities may include: 

  • Supporting the Group Trustee Board and Group leadership team with administration. 
  • Preparing agendas, papers and minutes for meetings. 
  • Maintaining Group records and correspondence. 
  • Helping coordinate communications across the Group. 
  • Supporting the organisation of Group meetings and events. 
  • Keeping important documents and information organised. 
  • Helping ensure actions from meetings are followed up. 
  • Providing general administrative support to the Group Chair, Group Lead Volunteer and other volunteers. 

What we’re looking for 

We’re looking for someone who is: 

  • Organised and able to keep track of information. 
  • A good communicator. 
  • Comfortable taking notes and producing meeting minutes. 
  • Confident using email and basic office software. 
  • Reliable and able to work with different people across the Group. 
  • Happy working behind the scenes to help others. 

Previous Scouting experience isn’t essential. 

Time commitment 

Generally flexible and based around Group meetings and administrative requirements. Much of the work can be completed remotely at a time that suits you.
